Two young men who were only 12 years of age when they killed a teen have today been imprisoned forever.
Shawn Seesahai was shoulder-burst by the more modest of the two litigants, who “frequently” conveyed a cleaver with a 42.5cm-long sharp edge, prior to being punched, kicked, stepped on and “slashed” at with the weapon, an extended preliminary was told. The 19-year-old casualty’s companion told the preliminary he had to get away yet Mr Seesahai staggered as he attempted to escape from the young men.
His executioners are accepted to be the most youthful respondents sentenced for homicide in England since Robert Thompson and Jon Venables, both then matured 11, were viewed as blameworthy in 1993 of killing two-year-old James Bulger. Today they were imprisoned for at least eight years and a half year each.
During their condemning today, Judge Mrs Equity Drinks told the pair at Nottingham Crown Court: “When you killed Shawn he was 19, beginning on his grown-up existence with all that to live for. What you both did was awful and stunning.”
