Justin Timberlake has issued a public apology to his wife of seven years Jessica Biel, almost two weeks after he was caught holding hands with actress Alisha Wainwright.
The 38-year-old father of one blamed alcohol for his ‘lapse in judgement’ while on a night out in New Orleans, but insisted ‘nothing happened’ with his 30-year-old Palmer co-star.
He took to Instagram on Wednesday to ‘address recent rumors’ despite usually remaining silent in ‘gossip’, noting that the scandal surround the photos is ‘hurting the people I love’.

The singer/actor said he had, ‘drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better.’

The incident happened on November 21, when Timberlake was spotted holding hands with Alisha on the balcony at The Absinthe House on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
The actor, who has been married to Jessica Biel since 2012, was not wearing his wedding ring in the photos as he hung out with Wainwright, 30.
Timberlake and Wainwright play on-screen lovers in Palmer, which follows an ex-convict who befriends a boy from a troubled home.
His wife Jessica Biel has still not yet spoken publicly about the incident involving Timberlake and Wainwright.
Timberlake and Biel started dating in January 2007, shortly after Timberlake broke up with Cameron Diaz, who he had been dating for three years.
The couple was engaged in December 2011 and married in October 2012, with their son Silas born in April 2015.
