In little more than a week, Russian forces have destroyed a third of Ukraine\u2019s power stations in repeated attacks targeting the war-torn nation\u2019s energy infrastructure, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince October 10, 30 percent of Ukraine\u2019s power stations have been destroyed, causing massive blackouts across the country,\u201d Zelenskyy said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

He added there was \u201cno space left for negotiations with (President Vladimir) Putin\u2019s\u00a0regime\u201d.<\/p>\n

Officials in several regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv,\u00a0reported power cuts\u00a0after a new round of attacks on Tuesday hit energy facilities.<\/p>\n

In the capital, energy operator DTEK said there were \u201cinterruptions\u201d to the electricity and water supply to residents of the city\u2019s left bank.<\/p>\n

\u201cEngineers are investigating and making all the necessary efforts to restore the\u00a0power\u00a0to the city\u2019s\u00a0residents,\u201d the company said on Facebook.<\/p>\n

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko called on Ukrainians to save electricity \u201cas much as possible\u201d and avoid using appliances with high energy consumption.<\/p>\n

An\u00a0air attack\u00a0left the northern city of Zhytomyr, west of Kyiv, without water and electricity supplies, Mayor Serhiy Sukhomlyn said on Facebook.<\/p>\n

Hospitals there were working \u201con backup power supplies\u201d, he said, adding there were no reported casualties.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Russia has\u00a0claimed\u00a0to have hit military targets and energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Power cuts were also reported in parts of the Dnipropetrovsk region, in central Ukraine, following a strike on energy infrastructure that caused \u201cfire and serious damage\u201d, Governor Valentyn Reznichenko said.<\/p>\n

There were \u201cinterruptions\u201d in the water supply on the left bank of Dnipro city, he added, while the neighbouring city of Pavlohrad was without water after a strike on a \u201ccritical infrastructure facility\u201d, according to its city council.<\/p>\n

In the southern city of Mykolaiv, overnight raids hit a residential building in the central district \u2013 killing at least one person \u2013 as well as a flower market in the same area.<\/p>\n
