A prankster staged an elaborate proposal to his terrified girlfriend by staging a fake robbery.

Raymond Juliano got a fake armed robber to storm a store in Boston, New York, while he and his mother-of-three girlfriend cowered in the back.

In the video the couple can be seen shopping for beer from the fridges at the back of the store.

The camera cuts to show the till where the fake robbery is taking place.

The prank crook pulls a fake gun on the store clerk and demands that he puts cash from the till in his black duffel bag.

The clerk turns to the couple and says: ‘I just got robbed,’ to which the prankster replies: ‘Did you?’

Suddenly, the actor storms back into the store shouting: ‘Back, back’.

Panicked, the girlfriend – along with the knowing prankster – run to the back.

The girlfriend tries to run beyond the refrigerators along the wall but Mr Juliano, not wanting to disrupt his seamless prank, urges her to stay on the shop floor.

Before she cowers to the floor, the robber shouts: ‘You, back, right there.’

The robber then appears to have an moral battle, mumbling about providing for his children for Christmas.

The actor then says: ‘It’s ok, it’s okay, you’re fine. I’ve just gotta figure this out.’

A small squeak of fear can be heard from the girlfriend who cowers behind Mr Juliano.

The robber asks them if they have kids. She replies in a terrified voice: ‘I have three.’

He then asks how old they are and Mr Juliano replies: ’14, six and two.’

However, after accepting the engagement ring she then said they should still purchase the beer that they came into the shop for. Pictured: Mr Juliano's girlfriend with the robber

The robber asks him if she is his girlfriend. When the prankster says that she is, the robber responds: ‘What do you mean you’re not married man? I don’t see a ring.’

The robber then reaches into his bag and pulls out a ring box.

He passes the box to Mr Juliano and says: ‘What are you waiting for?’

He asks: ‘Will you marry me?’

His girlfriend replies: ‘Are you serious?’

Once reassured that it was all a prank, the girlfriend says ‘yes’ and the pair celebrate before she exclaims: ‘I’m gonna kill you.’

She then insists that she wants the beer they originally came in to purchase.

Mr Juliano did however make it up to his girlfriend and proposed for a second time during a less terrifying outing in NYC.

He said: ‘I felt bad. And also I don’t think that’s the proposal she wanted to look back on.’

To make it up to her, he took his bride-to-be on a romantic trip to New York City where the pair had a couple’s massage followed by a dinner and a horse-drawn carriage ride in Central Park.
