A woman has been branded ‘tacky’ for wearing a white lace gown to her cousin’s big day.

Taking to the Reddit post, an anonymous woman, believed to be from Australia, shared the photo which shows the wedding guest in the middle of the snap, while the bride stands to the edge almost out of camera.

Alongside the image, she penned: ‘Bride on the right and cousin in the middle. Not a bridesmaid. Why not go all out and wear a floor length white dress?’

And she wasn’t the only person to take issue with the shot,  with many raging that everyone knows white is banned from a wedding – unless you’re the bride.

‘For all those people that keep asking why is it so taboo to wear white at a wedding. This. Identifying the bride should not be a guessing game,’ wrote one, while a second penned: ‘I totally thought the cousin was the bride, tacky white Lacey dress.’

A third added: ‘Wait, I only see one floor-length white dress but the cousin is supposed to be in the middle. What is this even?’ while a fourth commented:

‘She is tacky but this is fixed in 30 seconds of photoshop.’

But while some criticised the guest for wearing white, others took issue with the picture for a very different reason.

‘Everyone else is dressed like it’s a funeral. Whole thing is a mess,’ commented one, while a second agreed: ‘That’s a lot of black for a wedding.’

Meanwhile, others didn’t see a problem at all, and argued it’s easy to determine which is the bride.

‘It was pretty easy to determine at first glance. Double scanned though because the age order put the bride at the end but after that explanation there is nothing wrong here,’ penned one, while another agreed:

‘This is fine. It’s completely obvious who the bride is.’

A further added: ‘They’re all the bride’s cousins and they’re standing in age order that’s why the white dress cousin is in the middle.’
