A cat with a purr-fect mustache named after Charlie Chaplin is taking the internet by storm.  <\/p>\n

Stacy Music, a secretary from Alabama, adopted Charlie after finding her in a neighbor’s garden and decided to name her after the 1920s actor known for films such as The Kid, The Gold Rush and A King in New York.<\/p>\n

As the eight-year-old cat has grown older, so too has the mustache and many of the Charlie’s thousands of fans are comparing her more and more to Freddie Mercury. <\/p>\n

Stacy Music, a secretary from Alabama, adopted Charlie after finding her in a neighbor’s garden and decided to name her after the 1920s actor Charlie Chaplin because of her uncanny mustache<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ms Music said: ‘People love seeing pictures of Charlie – I’m forever posting pictures of her on social media and she always gets a great response, with some posts generating over 5,000 likes!<\/p>\n

‘When Charlie was around three or four months old, I noticed a little mustache and thought she resembled Charlie Chaplin – which is where I got the idea for the name “Charlie” from.<\/p>\n

‘Then, over the years, the mustache got a bit bigger so the name stuck.’<\/p>\n

Others have said Charlie’s luxurious black mustache is reminiscent of Peter Sarstedt<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Whilst Ms Music didn’t intend to make Charlie famous, it’s clear to see this unusual cat stands out from the crowd – but to the family she’s simply the perfect family pet.<\/p>\n

She said, ‘To us, she’s just Charlie. She’s part of the family.<\/p>\n

‘When I first found her with her mother and siblings, they were completely wild and the mum had obviously given birth beneath my neighbors van.<\/p>\n

‘The others didn’t show much interest in becoming a domesticated, but Charlie kept coming up to the house which is why we ended up taking her in.<\/p>\n

‘Her mum and siblings stayed wild, but my neighbor kept an eye on them to make sure they were doing OK.<\/p>\n

‘She’s a great cat and she loves her family very much and if anyone is too loud, she will walk in and kind of referee.<\/p>\n

‘Charlie always walks up to me when it’s bedtime and sleeps next to me. <\/p>\n

Charlie Chaplin is renowned for his roles in films such as The Kid, The Gold Rush and A King in New York<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

‘People tell me she looks more like the singer Freddie Mercury or actor Tom Selleck, but she has been Charlie for almost nine years, so too late to change her name now!<\/p>\n
