The club has opted not to offer him a new deal, a decision that took the 33-year-old Belgian midfielder by surprise. He revealed that the club’s Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, and CEO, Ferran Soriano, informed him of this decision during a brief meeting, leaving him in shock and needing several days to process the news . 

  

Despite ongoing injury issues that limited his appearances this season to 24 league games, De Bruyne still managed to provide three goals and seven assists, proving he can contribute at the top level . His departure has led to speculation about his next destination, with interest rumored from MLS and Saudi Arabian clubs, including Inter Miami. Meanwhile, during Sky Sports coverage, Manchester United legend Roy Keane jokingly suggested De Bruyne could join United, eliciting laughter in the studio .
