A student has died after a stabbing at a school in southern France. The attack occurred at a private school in Juvignac, near Montpellier. French authorities report that the victim, a 15-year-old boy, was stabbed during an altercation with another student.

Emergency services were called to the scene, but the teenager succumbed to his injuries despite their efforts.

The suspect, another student, has been arrested. Reports suggest the incident may have stemmed from a personal dispute between the two students, and there is no indication of a broader security threat or terrorism.

French Education Minister Nicole Belloubet expressed her condolences and said psychological support would be provided to students and staff. An investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances of the attack.
