A dog-lover has wowed fans after transforming the cupboard under her stairs into a modern bedroom with marble tiles and shelving for her pet Labrador.

Emma Shorthouse, of Birmingham, shared breathtaking before and after photos to private Facebook group Extreme Budget DIY & Life Hacks.

In the pictures, an empty, bland white space with a concrete floor is shown.

The savvy crafter dramatically upgraded the neglected space by adding two patterned dog bowls and a dog bed layered with tonal, fluffy blankets for her pet Luther.

Marble-style tiles were fitted on the floor and have given the hidden space a modern revamp.

Pale green mosaic tiles have been put across the walls of the pet’s new room for a chic and classically elegant living space.

Snug: Emma Shorthouse transformed the cupboard under her stairs into a bedroom for her Labrador. She kitted the space out in marble-style tiles, shelving for the dog’s treats and stacked cosy blankets over his bed

Emma has even fitted a shelf for her beloved Lab’s treats and bunting inscribed with his name forms a welcoming entrance into the new pad.

The blue and red decoration and bone-shaped frame containing cute pictures of Luther have injected a homely feel.

The thrifty decorator’s makeover has sent the internet into meltdown and she has received more than 500 likes.

She captioned the post: ‘Wasn’t using my under stairs cupboard so made my Labrador a bedroom.’

One person replied: ‘This is a great idea.’
