Police today found a body in woodland during a search for a 15-year-old boy who went missing two days ago.
Scott Smith was last seen in Skirlaugh, East Yorkshire, on Thursday afternoon at 5.30pm.
A Humberside Police spokesman said: ‘We can confirm that sadly a body has been found in woods on Benningholme Lane in Skirlaugh.
‘Enquiries are in their very early stages and the body has yet to be formally identified.
‘However, the family of the deceased has been informed and are being supported by the police.
‘The circumstances of the death are not thought to be suspicious.’
Police were called to the remote location, on the outskirts of Skirlaugh, after a ‘police incident’ today at 1pm.
