Hayley Atwell looks elegant in a dramatic black gown at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards

She’s shining in the film world, having recently been cast in the seventh Mission: Impossible film.

And Hayley Atwell looked every inch the leading lady as she put on a showstopping display in a dramatic black gown at the 65th Evening Standard Theatre Awards, held at The London Coliseum on Sunday.

The actress, 37, dazzled alongside Charlie’s Angel’s star Naomi Scott, 26, who showcased her taut midriff in a sequinned scarlet off-the-shoulder top and high-waisted red maxi skirt as she walked the red carpet at the glitzy event.

Hayley went all out in a dramatic black gown which featured a huge train and black netting across the top.

The bold gown further featured a large peach flower detail and a gold sash tied around her waist.

Hayley added a sparkling pair of diamond drop earrings by David Morris to her unique red-carpet look.

The star swept her raven tresses into a neat up-do, while she added a sleek palette of make-up to her face. 

The Captain America: The First Avenger star appeared in a cheerful mood as she glided along the red carpet, displaying her eye-catching black and gold dress as she did so.  

Meanwhile, Looking every inch the movie star, Naomi dazzled in the bardot-style crop top which gave a glimpse of her toned abs and showcased her décolletage. 

Adding a red maxi skirt to her look, the actress accessorised with glittering silver studs and some embellished rings.

The Aladdin star upped up the glam by adding shimmering rouge eye-shadow to co-ordinate her look, while her raven tresses were slicked back into an elegant style with a centre-parting.

Naomi recently spoke to Teen Vogue where she told how casting directors didn’t know what to do with her when she first got into the entertainment industry.

The London native, who is of both British and Indian descent, admitted she often felt like she was the ‘other choice’ for casting agents while on auditions.

‘There’s a thing of someone [being] like… “she’s not white, she’s not Black, she’s not Latina, what is she?” she said.

‘There were definitely a few leads that I went for where I think, ultimately, I was maybe the other choice, the “exotic” choice, or the “other.”‘

She went on to say that there were moments that she didn’t ‘really feel Indian enough’ growing up.

‘But now I’m at a place where I’m like, you know what, it’s OK. It doesn’t make me any less Indian, or any less half Indian.’ 

Meanwhile, Naomi and Hayley were in good company at the Evening Standard Awards, with Florence Welch showcasing her flair for fashion in an elegant ensemble.    

The Florence and the Machine star, 33, stunned in a pleated mustard gown as she walked the red carpet at the glitzy event.

Her eye-catching gown featured a yellow slip with a lace trim, which was covered by the semi-sheer, billowing pleated material.

Florence boosted her height with a pair of gold platform heels and added a touch of bling with a dazzling gold shell-shaped handbag.

Strictly Come Dancing star Lady Emma Weymouth looked ravishing in a sequinned, red strapless gown as she posed up a storm at the event.

Emma looked radiant as she complimented her look with simple yet effective gold jewellery, while she matched her red lipstick with her attire.

The socialite appeared in a chipper mood as she posed with her husband Ceawlin Thynn, Viscount Weymouth.

While actress Ellie Bamber looked ethereal in a heavily embellished, nude mini dress which featured a dramatic featured trim.

Elsewhere, model Jourdan Dunn blew everyone away with her sensational look as she rocked a dazzling emerald and gown embellished gown.

The catwalk star looked sensational as she showcased the criss-cross back of the dress, revealing a hint of side-boob as she did so. 

Jourdan added a pair of towering gold stilettos, while her raven tresses were styled into a loose ponytail.  

Actress and model Poppy Delevigne, 33, meanwhile stole the show in a glittering semi-sheer evening gown which featured a cut out back. 

The star’s lithe figure was on full display in the close-fitting outfit, which sparkled with sequins and trailed on the red carpet behind her. 

Poppy, the elder sister of catwalk model Cara, 27, posed confidently in front of a floral back drop.

Her honey-hued tresses were styled in a side parting and a radiant palette of make-up only emphasised her natural features. 

And her husband James Cook, who warmly embraced his wife, showed off a blue velvet blazer which he wore over a white shirt and bow tie. 

Meanwhile, Olivia Colman looked elegant in a black dress which featured white floral piping throughout. 

The Crown star added a pop of colour to her ensemble as she carried a bright orange clutch bag. 

The star was on hand to present an award and put on a very animated display as she took to the stage.

She presented the award for the Best Play, in partnership with Chanel, to Lynn Nottage for her production Sweat. 

Olivia later posed up a storm in the winners room, where she took snaps with several award winners.  

Once again wowing on a red carpet, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour looked effortlessly chic in a dramatic long black coat with silver button detailing.

The journalist draped this over a long, sequinned silver gown and added further bling with a dazzling necklace. 

Anna was accompanied to the event by her daughter Bee Shaffer who looked radiant in a white crochet dress. 

She later took centre stage as she posed up a storm with Damian Lewis, Cush Jumbo, Evgeny Lebedev and Helen McCrory.

Elsewhere, Ruth Wilson continued the red sequinned theme, while former Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne put on a dapper display. 

Downton Abbey favourite Dame Maggie Smith also in chic, wearing a silk black blazer and black trousers. 

The veteran actress was in a chipper mood as she smiled broadly for the cameras on the red carpet. 

While her Downton co-star Laura Carmichael put on a sizzling display in a structured, black strapless jumpsuit. 

Meanwhile, married couple Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory looked more loved-up than ever at the event. 

And Sean Mathias and Sir Ian McKellen pulled out all the stops in their dapper ensembles.

Actor Andrew Scott looked smart in a dark velvet blazer at her brooded on the star-studded red carpet. 

Other attendees included Grayson Perry and Philippa Perry who rocked kooky ensembles, while Sonali Deraniyagala and Fiona Shaw donned stylish ensembles.
