Bride is driven to her wedding by LA firefighters

A bride who nearly missed her own nuptials because of a traffic jam was saved by a team of firefighters who escorted to her wedding venue in their fire truck.

Back in March, Los Angeles County firefighters from Station 69 were at the scene of a car accident that blocked both lanes of Topanga Canyon Boulevard when they met the future Mrs. Gorman.

Julie and her bridesmaids were walking on the side of the road, holding up their dresses so they wouldn’t get muddy when the firefighters asked if they could help.

They explained that their limousine was stuck in traffic, and they were late for Julie’s wedding to her now-husband Geof Gorman.

The bride and the bridesmaids were invited onto the fire truck and given a Code 3 escort the wedding venue.

A few weeks after the ceremony, Julie sent the firefighters a photo of herself posing with them in front of their truck on her wedding day.

‘Thanks for saving our wedding, The Gormans,’ she signed the photo, which was dated March 2, 2019.

A representative for the Los Angeles County firefighters told Yahoo Lifestyle that he noticed the snapshot of the bride with her four rescuers hung up at the station this week and posted it on Instagram.

‘It almost looked like she was escorted to the event,’ he said. ‘As soon as they got out, they snapped that photo.’

The firefighter who snapped the photo admitted to Yahoo Lifestyle that they still ‘have no idea’ what the bride’s first name is.

After the heartwarming story went viral, the Gormans’ wedding photographer Amy Van Vlear shared snapshots of the unforgettable moment.

Amy posted on her Instagram Story an image of Geof and Julie holding hands at their wedding venue after her arrival followed by the group shot of the bride with the firefighters.

‘When the road to the venue was completely blocked off because of a car crash, these firefighters saved the day for Julie by driving her up the canyon to the venue in their fire truck!’ she wrote. ‘Julie and Geof sent them this photo after the fact, thanking them for what they did…’

She also posted photos of Julie stepping out of the firetruck in her wedding dress and rubber boots.

‘Can it get any cooler than this,’ Amy captioned an image of Julie and one of her bridesmaids walking into the venue.
