Kylie Jenner sold a majority stake in her cosmetics company for an incredible $600million on Monday, making front page headlines worldwide and setting social media ablaze.
Yet there was a noticeable lack of interest in the world’s youngest ever self-made billionaire’s triumph from one surprising quarter – her own family.
Indeed scrolling through the Kardashian-Jenner’s multiple posts in the past 24 hours, one begins to wonder if big sisters Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Kendall are not in fact quietly seething about the achievement.
For while Kris Jenner had plenty to say on the subject – as Kylie’s momager she’s of course likely to be celebrating her own impressive payday – not one of her siblings had any comment.
Instead Kylie’s big sister Khloe Kardashian, 35, celebrated the ‘OG trio’ – the family’s original Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars – herself and sisters Kourtney and Kim.

Kylie Cosmetics: Jenner launched her makeup line just four years ago, via Instagram
Peak Kylie: The reality star was busy promoting her range with multiple Instagrams on both her own page and her dedicated Kylie Cosmetics page on Tuesday, but did not refer to her deal
The post was in order to plug the trio’s new KKW fragrance, and is likely a contractually required part of her promotional duties.
But Khloe also shared a picture of her stunning home, while making no mention of Kylie’s huge achievement. A surprising omission from Khloe, who as KUWTK viewers will recall was for years one of the closest family members to the 22-year-old.
And Khloe wasn’t alone. Indeed aside from Kris, who insisted it is ‘truly a moment for our family to be proud’, not one of the Kardashian-Jenners acknowledged the huge payday in any form.
With a barrage of self-promoting posts on her multiple social media platforms, Kim was busy plugging everything from her Skims range to her Rodney Reed interview with Jenna Bush, and of course her KKW Beauty line and fragrances.
Ignoring Kylie’s triumph, the 39-year-old instead found time to congratulate Khloe’s bestie Malika Haqq and her sister on their new show, and celebrate her own make-up artist and collaborator Mario’s influencer award.
There were also more personal posts, professing her ‘love’ for husband Kanye West, and sharing a cute picture of daughter Chicago.
Well done guys! The Haqq sisters’ new show got a mention from Kim
‘No one deserves this more!’ Kim took a moment to celebrate her own make-up artist and collaborator Mario’s influencer award
Of course, before Kylie launched her $29 lipkits just four years ago, Kim was by far the most successful reality star in history, making millions with endorsement deals.
Yet while her own accomplishments remain impressive by any standard, her estimated $370million personal net worth is now dwarfed by that of the baby sister who just a few years back cited Kim as her biggest inspiration.
While Kim is surely happy her sister is doing so well, the ease with which Kylie has reached this milestone must grate on the mother-of-four.
For while Kylie launched her lipskits just four years ago with nothing more than an Instagram post, Kim worked steadily for more than two decades to reach her current level of success.
And of course it must feel strange to be pushed into second place by her sister, after years as the most successful member of the family.

Doting mom: Kim shared a sweet picture of Chicago to Instagram, shortly before news broke of her little sister’s business deal
As for Kourtney Kardashian, the last 24 hours have seen her plug her KKW beauty fragrance and her Poosh website via Instagram Stories, while Kendall Jenner simply posted an advert for her Proactiv range.
While the sisters promotional posts are understandable – they rely on social media to promote themselves and their personal projects, and may well have contractual obligations to fulfill – it is surprising that they haven’t found the time to thank their baby sister.
Instead it was left to a clearly delighted momager Kris, to explain how excited she and her youngest child are.
The 64-year-old told CNBC’s Squawk Box: ‘Yesterday was a really big day for Kylie and our team at Kylie Cosmetics. [It was] truly a moment for our family to be proud.
‘It’s kind of a crystallization of all our work… This is her baby and this is her dream, to build this beauty empire.’

Kylie sold 51 per cent of her make-up and skincare businesses to beauty giant Coty – which owns around 77 brands including CoverGirl, Hugo Boss, Burberry, Rimmel and Max Factor – in exchange for the lump sum.
As for Kylie herself, in a statement, the mom of daughter Stormi said: ‘I’m excited to partner with Coty to continue to reach even more fans of Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin around the world.
‘I look forward to continuing the creativity and ingenuity for each collection that consumers have come to expect and engaging with my fans across social media.’
Since the announcement, shares in Coty have shot up by 5 per cent – even though the deal isn’t expected to close until the third quarter of fiscal year 2020.
